Find reliable Slovakia airport transfer options with practical advice. Learn helpful tips and how to avoid common scams for a smooth arrival.
We have not yet verified how travellers currently reach Slovakia from the airport serving it, so we are not publishing routes, operators or fares we cannot stand behind. For what is running on the day you travel, the arrivals information published by your arrival airport is the reliable source, and your accommodation will usually know what works best for the hour you land.
Helpful Tips
Text 'D70' to 1100 before boarding any public transport in Bratislava. This buys your SMS ticket. Do it once. Simple.
Download the Slovak Lines app. Buy regional bus tickets there. Validate them on your phone. No queues.
Grab the Bratislava city card. It covers free public transport. It slashes prices at major attractions.
Trains link Bratislava and Vienna every hour. The ride lasts about 1 hour. Book ahead at rush.
Common Scams to Avoid
Unlicensed taxi touts inside Bratislava Airport's arrivals hall quote a flat "airport fee" that is 2, 3× the metered fare. Walk past them to the official taxi rank outside, where cars display a roof light and driver ID, or pre-book via the airport's recommended app.
At the public-transport ticket machines near the exit, "helpers" offer to buy your ticket then demand an inflated cash payment. Decline assistance, use the clearly marked machines yourself, and pay by card to avoid sleight-of-hand with change.
Currency-exchange booths in the baggage-claim area advertise 0 % commission but bury a poor rate in the fine print. Compare the displayed buy/sell spread before handing over cash, or wait to use an ATM in the landside hall for a mid-market rate.
